Wax-emulsions are used in the paper industry in order to impart or enhance the following properties:
- Release
- Gloss
- Lubrication
- Hydrophobicity
The most common wax emulsions are based on Paraffin (hydrophobing), HDPE (gloss & release) and LDPE (lubrication).
